Water Contamination Concerns – October 15, 2014

Official Tooele City Release:

We have received a number of calls this morning from citizens asking about a report of contamination in the water system.  This is NOT in Tooele City.  Tooele City’s water system is not contaminated and is perfectly safe to drink.

A news report was issued this morning announcing that a boil order has been issued in Stansbury Park due to elevated levels of coliform in 5 of their 9 in-home sampling sites on Monday.  Rightfully so, the Stansbury Park Improvement District immediately issued a boil order for the water users in their system.  Stansbury Park has been asked to boil their water until they receive confirmation that their water is safe.

Again, the contamination is limited to the residents connected to the Stansbury Park Improvement District water system only.  To our knowledge, there are no other contamination issues currently in the Tooele Valley.  We do know that there are no contamination issues in the Tooele City water system.

If you have any questions, you may call the Tooele City Mayor’s Office at 435.843.2104.

Thank you.

The following is the Notice that was issued for Stansbury Park:  Stansbury Park Drinking Water Important Notice!
