Work is currently underway from the railroad bridge to 200 North.  The photos above are of crew members removing the pavement south of 1280 North.

Water Shut Off Monday, June 22

Water will be shut off for approximately four hours on Monday, June 22 beginning at 7:00am from 1100 North to 1280 North on the east side of the road.

1280 North to Railroad Bridge: Reconstruction

  • Storm drain placement will begin Tuesday, June 23, at 1000 North and continue south at a rate of approximately 300 feet each day, reaching Family Tire and Service by the end of the week. Within the daily construction area vehicles will not be able to cross the open trench. This work will significantly impact driveway access to businesses from the road and may prohibit driveway access for several hours during the day. Please use alternate routes if possible and remember that many businesses have back or side street access.
  • Concrete pavement removal will continue from 1000 North to 200 North.
  • Curb and gutter will be placed and pavement excavation will take place from 1280 North to the railroad bridge this week.

Restrictions and Closures

  • The following restrictions will be in place:
    • Left turns are prohibited at the following intersections:
      • 1280 North
      • 1000 North
      • 700 North
      • 600 North
      • 500 North
      • 400 North
    • Northbound and southbound traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction and moved to the west side of the road from 1400 North to Utah Avenue.
    • As part of the Tooele City waterline project, traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction from Utah Avenue to 300 South. Questions about the waterline project can be directed to Tooele City Public Works.
    • Pine Canyon Road will be closed from Copper Canyon Drive/Broadway Avenue to the UEC Movie Theater through the month of June.
  • Placement of driveway approaches is anticipated to begin the week of June 22. This work will begin at 1280 North and proceed south. While this work is taking place,  businesses with multiple driveways may be reduced to one driveway. Businesses with only one driveway will have their driveway built in halves. The public involvement team will coordinate driveway impacts with property owners and the contractor.

Pedestrian detours will be in place as needed.  Please follow the posted detour route and do not enter the work zone.
