SR-36 Renewed

Resurfacing work from 2000 N to Stansbury begins 8/19

This work will take approximately 2 months to complete and will involve removing and replacing the top layer of asphalt. This work will not include a full reconstruction of the roadway like the work currently taking place south of 1280 North.

For approximately two weeks crews will be replacing damaged or deteriorating concrete at cross streets and along the median barrier.  This work will include daytime shoulder closures.

Once the concrete work is complete, crews will begin removing asphalt.  This work will take place at night and will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction during the following times:

  • Southbound traffic reduced to one lane from 8pm to 7am
  • Northbound traffic reduced to one lane from 7pm to 5am

Road Closures

1000 North East Side Reopens 8/18

Our crews will reopen the east side of the 1000 North intersection on Tuesday, August 18.  Paving will not have been completed by that time so traffic on the east leg of the intersection will be on gravel.  Paving is scheduled to take place two days later on Thursday, August 20.  During paving the intersection will remain open but will be shifted to the north and south as needed to accommodate the paving crews.

200 North (Utah Avenue) No Closure Tonight

The 200 North (Utah Ave.) intersection will not be closed this evening.  CenturyLink will need an additional two night closure of the full intersection and an additional one day closure of the east leg of the intersection to remove supports placed on their communication line but these closure dates have not yet been determined.

600 North Access Closed 8/14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Access to and from 600 North from SR-36 will be closed on Friday, August 14 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  This closure will accommodate the placement of the storm drain across 600 North.

During this closure, traffic should use 500 North or 700 North as alternates.
