SR-36 Renewed

Upcoming Work – 07/13/15 – 07/20/15

Railroad Bridge to 1000 North

  • Storm drain installation at 1000 North will be complete by Monday, July 13. This work will take place 24 hours a day so that paving may begin on the 13th.
  • Crews will continue concrete placement for driveway approaches over the next two weeks. Once the concrete is placed driveways will be plated and reopened, unless a secondary access is available to the property from a back or side street, similar to the curb and gutter placement.
  • Crews will begin paving operations on Monday, July 13 at the railroad bridge and head south. Please watch for paving machinery and crew members.  Driveways will be temporarily closed as the paving machine passes and then reestablished to provide access unless secondary access is available.
  • Traffic restrictions for this area include:
    • Northbound and southbound traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction
    • UPDATED Pine Canyon Road, from UEC Movie Theater to Copper Canyon Drive, will reopen by 7 p.m. on Friday, July 10th.  Flagging operations will be used intermittently over the next two weeks.  One additional one-day closure of Pine Canyon Road will be needed to complete the asphalt paving but this work has not yet been scheduled.
    • Left turns are prohibited at:
      • 1280 North
      • 1000 North

1000 North to 600 North

  • Storm drain placement will begin south of 1000 North on Monday, July 13 and continue south at a rate of approximately 300′ per day. This work will include open trenching.  Driveway access changes will be coordinated with property owners.
  • Crews will continue to work in the excavated area from 1000 North to 600 North to relocate utilities and prepare the subgrade for road base placement.
  • Traffic restrictions for this area include:
    • Northbound and southbound traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction
    • Left turns are prohibited at:
      • 700 North
      • 600 North

600 North to 200 North

  • Crews will continue to work in the excavated area from 600 North to 200 North to relocate utilities and prepare the subgrade for road base placement.
  • Traffic restrictions for this area include:
    • Northbound and southbound traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction
    • Left turns are prohibited at:
      • 500 North
      • 400 North

200 North to 520 South

  • Crews were originally scheduled to begin asphalt removal this week; however, in coordinating our work with the Tooele City waterline installation we determined this work would need to be moved back by one week. The removal will now begin on Monday, July 13th. Driveway closures of approximately 15 minutes will be needed as crews and machinery pass with the milling equipment. Temporary driveways will be immediately reestablished to provide access unless a secondary access is available to the property from a back or side street.
  • Traffic restrictions for this area include:
    • Northbound and southbound traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction

Pedestrian Access

Please use the sidewalk on the west side of the road.  Pedestrian signage has been placed throughout the work zone to indicate the best walking route.
