Guiding Good Choices™ is a series of workshops for families with children 9-17 years old. The fun, interactive sessions help to improve family communication and bonding. Practical methods are learned to reduce arguing and help avoid problem behaviors. The result is a more communicative and compassionate home where all family members are involved.
Program Length: 5 weekly two hour workshops
Cost: FREE
Available to: Parents of children 9-17 yrs old

Come giggle, sing, run, and play! We will have a different activity for your toddler to participate in. This program is for parents and children ages 1-5 and will be held at the Dow James Building (438 West 400 North) from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Each child wishing to participate must be registered. Space is limited!

Program Schedule |
Session One: Getting Started Gain new insight into the risks facing adolescents today. |
Session Two: Setting Guidelines Help ensure your children clearly understand your family’s rules and expectations as well as your “vision” for their future. |
Session Three: Avoiding Trouble Help your children learn ways to say “NO” to problem behaviors and still feel accepted by their peers. Children attend this session with their parents. |
Session Four: Managing Conflict Increase effective family communication, reduce anger and prevent alcohol use and problem behaviors. |
Session Five: Involving Everyone Expand children’s roles and responsibilities in the family and help your child see their importance in your family circle. |
