Councilman Scott Wardle was elected to the City Council in November 2005 and he is currently in his 4th term of service. He and his wife, Courtney are the parents of three children: Emma (Miss Tooele City 2019-2020), Lauren, and Jackson. The Wardle family moved to Tooele in 1997 and love our community. Scott has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies and a Master’s degree in Education. He has worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a religious educator for the last 26 years and currently teaches at the University of Utah Institute of Religion.

Scott was selected to be Chairman of the City Council in January of 2020. This is his 2nd time serving as Chairman of the Council. He previously served as Chairman from 2009-2012.   Councilman Wardle has also served as the Chairman of the Tooele City Redevelopment Development Agency, the Tooele County Council of Governments and the Utah State University Tooele Deans Advisory Council. He has also served as Vice-Chairman to both the City Council and Redevelopment Agency.

Chairman Wardle has served as board member to the Tooele County United Way Leadership Council, Tooele City Arts Council, as an advisory member to the Tooele City Planning Commission, Tooele Downtown Alliance, Tooele Valley Community Cooperative, the Tooele Valley Homeless Coordinating Committee and the needs resource summit dealing with homelessness and poverty in 2005.

Scott hopes to be a transparent, listening, advocate for the citizens of Tooele. He is committed to being fiscally responsible and finding solutions to the problems we face as a community.
