Library: Adult Emergency Preparedness Contest
Jun 1 – Aug 3 all-day

It’s the end of the world as we know it. Get prepared, so you’ll “feel fine!”


Create an emergency plan in one or more of areas described on the Tooele Ready website (www.tooeleready.org) provided by Tooele County Emergency Management.
When you’ve created at least one plan—come show a librarian and get an entry ticket into a drawing for awesome preparedness prizes.
One entry per person. Must be 19+ years old to enter.
Entry window: June 1—August 3. Winners announced August 5, 2019.

Library: Teen Writing Contest
Jun 1 – Jul 13 all-day

Write an original short story involving space in some way and submit it to the library before July 13.
Winners will be announced by August 3, 2019.

Entry window: June 1-July 13, 2019
Theme:  “A Universe of Stories”

Session One

Getting Started Getting Started

Gain new insight into the risks facing adolescents today.

Session Two

Setting Guidelines Setting Guidelines

Help ensure your children clearly understand your family’s rules and expectations as well as your “vision” for their future.

Session Three

Avoiding Trouble Avoiding Trouble

Help your children learn ways to say “NO” to problem behaviors and still feel accepted by their peers.

Children attend this session with their parents.

Session Four

Managing Conflict Managing Conflict - Communication

Increase effective family communication, reduce anger and prevent alcohol use and problem behaviors.

Session Five

Involving Everyone Involving Everyone

Expand children’s roles and responsibilities in the family and help your child see their importance in your family circle.

Guiding Good Choices™ is a series of workshops (5 two-hour sessions) for families with children 9-17 years old.

The fun, interactive sessions help to improve family communication and bonding.  Practical methods are learned to reduce arguing and help avoid problem behaviors.  The result is a more communicative and compassionate home where all family members are involved.

Celebrity Story Time (4-6 year olds)

Story time is a preschool program using the 7 days 7 ways principles from Very Ready to Read.

Designed for 4 – 6 year old children.

Summer Food Service Program (FREE LUNCH for KIDS)
Jun 26 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

The purpose of this program is to ensure children receive nutritious meals at no cost.  Children 18 years old and under eat FREE. There are 4 locations in Tooele City where lunch will be served Monday – Friday* from 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.  Keep our parks clean! Please put all trash in trash cans. Thank you!

*Exceptions:  Lunch will not be provided on July 4 or July 24 at any of the locations.

Children’s Fine Art Club: Art is out of this World!
