We thank those who submitted comments and feedback for our General Plan update. Community feedback was very beneficial and useful during the drafting process. Our updated GENERAL PLAN (.pdf) was adopted on December 16, 2020 by the Tooele City Council.
Tooele City just completed the process of revising and modernizing our General Plan. The Planning Commission is entrusted by Utah State Law to oversee and guide this process. The Planning Commission worked for more than nine months on the development of new elements that became part of the draft of the General Plan. The Commission held a joint meeting with the City Council to go over the draft and readied and provided the draft public review and comment. Copies of the General Plan are available at City Hall as well as electronically (If you choose to print this document, it is formatted to print double-sided, which is why there are blank pages in the document).
There were public open houses held where residents had the opportunity to review, discuss, and comment on the Plan with City staff, the Planning Commission, and the City Council. Those open houses were held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 and Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at City Hall. Comments and feedback were also given via email and an online submission form.
Public hearings were also held in both the Planning Commission meetings and City Council meetings giving additional opportunities for public participation. We appreciated the thoughts, comments, and feedback on the General Plan to help us as we look into the future for our community.
