Shop With a Cop 2018

Tooele County police agencies are excited to announce that our 2018 “Shop with a Cop” program is now accepting donations. The Shop with a Cop program allows local law enforcement to help our community during the holiday season by providing resources to less fortunate families. Donations collected are used to sponsor families throughout Tooele County, focusing on children as the recipients. The children involved in this program have been selected based on needs including: family situations, unemployment, not having the fiscal means to provide gifts for the holidays, or other family hardships. The participating children are selected by coordination from the Tooele County Children’s Justice Center, Tooele County School District, and local law enforcement agencies. Some of the participating children may have had negative experiences with law enforcement and participating in this program may foster a new beginning for a child and allow them, and their parents or guardians, to have a positive interaction with police. On the morning of December 15th every eligible child will be partnered with an officer and the two will eat breakfast together. After breakfast the officers and children will convoy in police vehicles to the Tooele Walmart. Once Santa arrives by Airmed helicopter, they will shop for Christmas gifts for the children and their families. Their gifts will even be wrapped by volunteers, ready to be opened on Christmas morning! Donations can be made in person at your local police agency or by mail to the Tooele City Police Department at 323 N. Main St Tooele, Utah 84074. Please make checks payable to “Shop with a Cop.” To get an accurate number of...
