I-80 and I-84; Concrete Bridge Preservation
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will be working at various locations on Interstate 80 (I-80) and Interstate 84 (I-84) in Tooele, Salt Lake and Summit counties to repair concrete bridges, guardrail and cable barrier. These repairs will preserve concrete structures on the interstates and enhance safety for drivers.
Construction is scheduled to begin as early as Nov. 27, 2017. Crews will work Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional nighttime work at specific locations. Construction activities will suspend during inclement winter weather and will resume in early spring for completion in June 2018.
Construction activities are expected to be performed primarily on freeway shoulders with occasional single lane closures. Crews will begin on I-80 in Tooele County and will move easterly into Salt Lake and Summit Counties. Work is anticipated to take ten days at each location.
